Bidding Farewell to Summer: Subak Cha (Watermelon Tea)

All things of the past seem less of what it was when times passes by. In the name of memory, sorrow diminishes and happy thoughts are maximized. The sultry weather that seemed endless at times is slowly moving and making way for the autumn season.

As far as I’m concerned, watermelons represent summer. Capture the flavor of the season in a cup of tea.

Ingredients
Serves 1

1 tablespoon finely sliced watermelon rind (white rind; 3cm length)
200ml water
2 teaspoons honey

Directions

1. Pour water in a pot, add white rind slices. Boil over high heat for about 10 minutes.

2. Serve warm with honey.
